This new presentation of the Hamburger Kunsthalle’s modern art collection — one of the most important in Germany — brings together some 125 works, tracing six decades of artistic transformation, from Expressionism to Art Informel. Reigl’s painting is placed in dialogue with Henry Moore’s ‘Upright Inner/Outer Form’ (1951) alongside two works by René Magritte: ‘L’espoir rapide’ (1927) and ‘Le Palais des rideaux’ (1928).
